This year I have traveled again to Myanmar to work as a guide and, although it is something that I like very much, I must recognize that always I'm very lazy when I think about the flight I have to go ahead.
Depending on the stops and the itinerary followed by the company I fly with, we are talking about 13-15 hours round trip and many others back (in the air, not counting the time of stopover). Absolute laziness
Also, having a lymphatic problem in my right leg for more than 15 years, flying so many hours is even more uncomfortable.
If something similar happens to you on long flights (lymphatic subject apart), this guide of tips may be good for you so that your long distance flight is as heavy as possible.
1.Choose a seat that is comfortable for you
The thing starts at the time of check-in. If you like to ride the plane to stretch your legs or use the bathroom every two to three, it may be better to check in well in advance and choose a aisle seat. If you wait at the last minute and you are assigned a window, you will start the trip badly, overwhelmed with the fact that you know that you are encased and you will have to spend the flight asking permission to leave. The thing can get worse if your seatmates fall asleep during the flight and you don't want to bother.
The same applies if you prefer to have a window to support your head and sleep endlessly.
2.Don't drink the night before or during the flight (or at least, don't get drunk)
Another vital advice to face a long-term flight with certain guarantees. Alcohol dehydrates you and dry cabin air, too. In addition, passing a hangover in a closed cabin at an altitude of 1 meters, for more than 10 hours, is not a pleasant feeling. Even less if you feel like vomiting and you are forced to move your office to the tiny and uncomfortable bathroom of the plane.
Of course, a glass or two of wine, if it helps you fall asleep, it may not be such a bad idea.
3. Stay hydrated
As I said in the previous point, your body becomes dehydrated faster during the flight. Do not cut yourself when ordering glasses of water from the crewBecause staying hydrated is important for your health. In addition, the feeling of pasty mouth and lips and dry skin is not pleasant if you have to endure it for much of the duration of a long-distance flight.
4. Wear comfortable and baggy clothes
