Slovakia joins the euro

The change to the euro will mean that prices have increased since 2008. According to local newspapers, prices rose an average of 0.5% during the first two weeks after the change.

However, the ease of moving around Europe with the same currency helps the traveler and in the process saves time in changing and learning the new currency and, of course, avoiding the always annoying bank fees.
